SASSA Appeal Guide

A detailed step-by-step process for contesting a declined grant application for any specific month.

Why Was It Declined?

Applicants are usually declined if they are registered with NSFAS, UIF, or earn above the threshold (R624 per month).

The 30-Day Window

Appeals must be lodged within 30 days of receiving the declined status. Late appeals are rarely considered by the Independent Tribunal.

Appeals are per month, not per application.
